Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Inaugurate 2nd National ANTF Conference in New Delhi Today

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the 2nd National Conference of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Heads of States and Union Territories in New Delhi today. The conference will serve as a strategic platform to reinforce Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to a Drug-Free India and to formulate a roadmap to achieve this goal. Our correspondent reports that the theme of the conference, being organised by Narcotics Control Bureau, is United Resolve, Shared Responsibility.
 
 
The Home Minister said in a social media post that he will also destroy drugs worth four thousand 794 crore rupees on the occasion to mark the inauguration of a Drug destruction drive .
 
 
The Modi government has adopted Zero tolerance policy against drugs. The two-day conference will hold a comprehensive review and analysis of the collective efforts made by all concerned stakeholders in combating the drug menace in the country and deliberate on the future roadmap. During the conference, eight technical sessions will be held, including Drug Free India @2047, Improving effectiveness in Investigation and Trials, and Dismantling Network linkages and Cartels. Heads of 36 states and Union Territories of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force,  apart from stakeholders from other government Departments, will also attend the conference. On the occasion, the  Home Minister will release the Narcotics Control Bureau Annual Report- 2024 and launch an online Drug Disposal Campaign. The first National Conference of -Narcotics Task Force was held in April 2023.
