During the first phase of campaigning for the Bihar Assembly elections, issues such as development, law and order, and migration dominated the political canvassing today.
BJP’s star campaigner and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing election rallies in Buxar and Siwan in support of NDA candidates, said that the establishment of the rule of law under the leadership of Nitish Kumar is a major achievement. In Siwan, Mr. Shah said that people no longer have to suffer the pain of “jungle raj.” Referring to former MP Shahabuddin, he added that people were tormented during that period, and such a situation will not be allowed to arise again. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressing a public rally in Gopalganj, said that the Modi government at the Centre has taken several measures for the welfare of the people of Bihar. He also attended a public meeting in Gaura Bauram in Darbhanga. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also addressed an election rally in Bagaha. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to put pressure on the opposition, but said that he would not be intimidated. RJD leader Mr. Yadav addressed multiple election rallies in Saharsa, Darbhanga, and Samastipur. Meanwhile, leaders of the Grand Alliance, including those from the CPI (ML), Vikassheel Insaan Party, CPI, and other allied parties, are also actively campaigning across the state.
