Union Education Minister Hails India’s QS Top 50 Subject Rankings 2026 as Milestone for Higher Education

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the performance of the country’s premier institutions in the QS Top 50 Subject Rankings 2026 is an important milestone for India’s higher education ecosystem. In a social media post, the Education Minister said the rankings reflect strong academic standards and the growing global presence of the country’s institutions, supported by the National Education Policy’s focus on quality, innovation and global engagement.
 
Additionally, Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Professor Santishree D. Pandit, has congratulated the JNU faculty and students for securing top positions in the World QS rankings. The Vice-Chancellor said that JNU has been consistently performing well in the last three years. She added that the University continues to lead the way in academics with Nari Shakti for Viksit Bharat.
