Union Minister for Civil Aviation K Rammohan Naidu has said that there will be no compromise on air safety as it is the topmost priority for the government.
In reply to supplementaries regarding the implementation of the Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) guidelines, Mr Naidu informed the Rajya Sabha that the government is conducting an enquiry in connection with the situation leading to the cancellation of several flights, due to which passengers had to face a lot of difficulties.
Mr Naidu said the government is not taking this situation lightly, and very strict action will be taken in the matter. He said that the government will set an example for all the airlines if there is any non-compliance or non-adherence to the guidelines by any person, any organisation or any operator functioning in the Civil Aviation industry is found, by taking strict action.
Mr Naidu said that the Ministry also held a meeting with IndiGo on FDTL guidelines itself on the 1st of this month, and clarification was given to the operator what it required, but it did not flag the issue of crew rostering at that time.
