Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi Yadav, has said that the Union Budget keeps in mind India’s growth roadmap from 2026 to 2047 and lays a strong foundation for a developed India. She was speaking at a press conference held at the BJP headquarters in Panaji. The Minister expressed confidence that Goa will benefit from the Budget provisions, particularly in tourism, seafood exports and agriculture.
Minister said the Budget is important from the perspective of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Minister noted that detailed financial provisions have been made for sectors such as bio-pharma, Semiconductor Mission 2.0, textiles, artificial intelligence, electronic component manufacturing, MSMEs, infrastructure, agriculture, rural development, dairy and fisheries, with a focus on local for global. She added that the Budget is forward-looking, growth-oriented, human-centric and aimed at empowering youth while strengthening public trust. During her visit, the Minister also met Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and reviewed the work of the State Women and Child Development Department. Discussions included anganwadi centres, nutritional support for children and implementation of central schemes.
