Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held a meeting with the Brazilian Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro in New Delhi. Talking to the media, Mr Chouhan said during the meeting, useful discussions were held with the Brazilian Agriculture Minister and his team in the field of agriculture. He noted that ICAR and its Brazilian counterparts will cooperate in many areas.
The Agriculture Minister highlighted that Brazil has shown a lot of interest in natural and organic farming and India is negotiating with the country in those areas. He mentioned that India is working rapidly on pulses, oilseeds mission and integrated farming. The Minister informed that Brazil has agreed to set up a Centre of Excellence in India.
