Air defence systems across the United Arab Emirates remain on high alert after a fresh wave of Iranian missile and drone launches was intercepted over the past few hours, according to security updates. Authorities said UAE air defences successfully engaged eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 36 drone aerial vehicles launched from Iran on March 31. Explosions were heard in parts of the country as defence systems intercepted the incoming threats before they could reach populated areas. In southern Dubai, falling debris from one of the interceptions caused minor injuries. Officials moved quickly to secure the site and confirmed there was no major damage or injuries linked to the incident. Emergency teams remain deployed and continue monitoring the situation.

 

Officials said air defence systems remain fully operational and prepared for further threats as tensions continue across West Asia. The interceptions form part of an ongoing defensive response to what authorities described as continued Iranian attacks targeting the UAE. Since the start of the attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 1,977 unmanned aerial vehicles. Authorities say vigilance remains high, with defence units maintaining readiness while civil defence teams coordinate precautionary measures across the country.
