In Mizoram, more than two thousand people have been detected with “Conjunctivitis” during last month. Programme Officer for National Programme for Control Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCBVI) Dr Biaksiami said in Aizawl that the prevalence of Conjunctivitis was first detected in the first week of August. She said that Aizawl District has the highest number of affected people with one thousand five hundred and seventy four detected with Conjunctivitis while Serchhip District reported one hundred and forty three cases. The Programme Officer further said that the eye flu is also now being spread to other districts as well.
There is, however, no major problem reported due to Conjunctivitis in the State, she added.
