Two Indian mountaineers, Arun Kumar Tiwari and Sandeep Are, died while descending from Mount Everest. Officials at Nepal’s Department of Tourism said today that these climbers were descending after conquering the peak of the world’s tallest mountain.
Arun and Sandeep were reportedly exhausted while they were coming down from the peak and could not be saved despite the best efforts of their guides. Both climbers summited Everest yesterday and fell ill during their descent. This marks the fourth death on the mountain this season. Earlier, three Nepali mountain workers and guides also lost their lives during the 2026 Everest climbing season.
