The three-day Tripura State Games, organised by the Tripura Olympic Association, concluded today amid great enthusiasm and sporting spirit across the State.
Athletes from different districts showcased their best performances in various venues, competing in a total of 18 events during the multidisciplinary sporting extravaganza.
On the final day, the men’s football final was held at Belonia, where North District emerged as champions. In a closely contested match at the BKI Ground, North District defeated Dhalai District 1-0 to clinch the title.
In the women’s football category, Gomati District secured the championship with a 4-2 victory over West District.
West District dominated the table tennis events, winning both singles and doubles titles in the men’s and women’s categories.
In tennis, Avinash Saha of West District won the men’s title, while Ritika Das claimed the women’s championship.
In badminton, Ritesh Kothari and Adrija Dey emerged champions in their respective categories.
West District also excelled in weightlifting, with its athletes securing seven gold medals across both men’s and women’s divisions.
The successful organisation of the Tripura State Games once again highlighted the growing sporting talent and competitive spirit among athletes across the State.
