Trade between India and China to commence from June 1 through Shipki La Pass in Himachal Pradesh

Trade between India and China will commence from June 1 through the Shipki La Pass in Himachal Pradesh, and significant preparations are being undertaken to ensure its success. To effectively implement the India-China Shipki La trade agreement at the ground level, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur district, Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that, to facilitate this trade, warehouses and shops will be constructed for traders at Namgya Gram Panchayat in the Pooh subdivision. In addition, better coordination will be established among the Indian Army, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Customs Department, and clear demarcation of responsibilities will be ensured so that no difficulties arise in conducting cross-border trade.
