Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today said that tourism is a celebration of culture and shared human aspiration. He made these remarks while addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Tourism Leadership Summit in New Delhi. The Minister said that as India progresses towards becoming a leading global economy, tourism remains central to its developmental vision.
Mr Shekhawat said that country’s tourism ecosystem generates livelihood across urban and rural landscapes. Highlighting the interest of a large number of tourists to India, the Minister highlighted that around 1.8 million visitors from the United States visited India in the last year.
