Today is Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. It commemorates the victims and sufferings of people during the Partition of India in 1947. This day the nation pays homage to all of those who sacrificed their lives and suffered unimaginable pain during the partition in 1947.
In a fitting tribute to all those who lost their lives due to the partition of the nation and were displaced from their roots, in 2021, the Government had decided to observe 14th August every year as the day to commemorate their sacrifice.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the horror of the partition.
In a social media post, Mr. Shah said that Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is a day to express condolences by remembering the pain of those who suffered due to the partition of the country and its tragedy.
He added that the partition led to violence, exploitation, and atrocities, and millions of people endured displacement.
The Union Minister further added that on this day, the Congress party divided the nation into pieces, hurting the pride of Mother India, and the country will never forget this history and the pain of the partition.
