In Puducherry, three women were killed by poisonous gas leaked from their home toilets in the PudhuNagar area of Oulgaret Assembly Constituency today. Two persons are admitted in hospitals in serious condition.  

In this area, the house toilet pipelines are linked with centralised underground drainage and sewage systems. Nearby this area, there is a sewage water treatment unit.

It is said that the poisonous gas produced inside the underground pipes has passed in reverse and burst out through the outlet of toilets in the homes.
