Minister of State for Rural Development Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani today said that this year’s Union Budget has laid a strong foundation for strengthening agriculture and allied sectors, with a clear focus on productivity, value addition, and farmer prosperity.  Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the Budget Webinar on Agriculture and  Rural Prosperity, Mr Pemmasani noted that the government remains committed to expanding opportunities across the sector and advancing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

 

The Minister also said that the Prime Minister’s focus on export-orientated agriculture, leveraging India’s diverse agro-climatic strengths, and focusing on quality, value addition, and global competitiveness will unlock new opportunities for our farmers and agri-entrepreneurs while strengthening India’s agri-economy.
