There is no shortage of energy in India: Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that there is no shortage of energy in India and there is no cause for worry for the energy consumers. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Puri said, ‘The government’s priority is to ensure availability of affordable and sustainable fuel for the citizens, and it is doing it comfortably.’ He also spoke about various aspects of India’s uninterrupted energy imports despite geopolitical challenges. Indian Oil Corporation Limited IOCL today said that reports on social media suggesting a shortage of petrol and diesel are baseless. It said India has sufficient fuel stocks, and supply and distribution networks are functioning normally. IOCL said it is committed to maintaining an uninterrupted fuel supply across the country. It requested citizens not to panic or crowd fuel stations and to rely only on official sources for accurate information.
