In Badminton, World No. 4 Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty went down 12-21, 23-25 to Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the men’s doubles final of the Thailand Open in Bangkok today. The Indian duo lost the BWF World Tour Super 500 summit clash in straight games in 52 minutes, extending their title drought to two years.

 

Satwik and Chirag were aiming for their third Thailand Open crown after winning the title in 2019 and 2024. The Indonesian pair, reunited after playing with different partners over the last two years, registered their first win over the Indian duo in five meetings. In Women’s Doubles, China’s Bao Lijing and Cao Zihan clinched the women’s doubles title defeating Japan’s Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 19-21, 21-16, 21-19 in the final.
