In Thailand Open Badminton, India’s top men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the Semi-finals with 21-12, 21-13 in Bangkok today. The pair defeated Japanese pair of Takumi Nomura and Yuichi Shimogami.
In women’s singles, world number 12 and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu defeated by Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-19, 18-21, 15-21 in the quarterfinals.
Earlier, she defeated Denmark’s Amalie Schulz in straight games, 21-13, 21-15 to enter the Quarterfinals.
Later in the day, Lakshya Sen will face Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the Men’s singles quarterfinals this afternoon. Earlier, Lakshya Sen defeated China’s Chen Xuan Zh in straight games, 21-12, 21-13, to secure his place in the last eight.
