In Telangana, A six-day skill development training programme on bamboo handicraft making and non-timber forest product processing concluded yesterday at BHEL, Sangareddy District. The programme was jointly organised by the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Science, College of Social Sciences, under Professor Jayashankar, Telangana State Agricultural University. The training ran from 13th to 18th March 2026.

The closing ceremony was attended by Associate Dean Dr. V. Vijayalakshmi, Corporator Sindhu Adarsh Reddy, and Assistant Professor Smt. CH. Snehalatha, who also served as Principal Investigator of the programme. Dr. Vijayalakshmi encouraged participants to make and sell lamp shades and laundry baskets for financial independence. The programme was funded by the Telangana State Council of Science and Technology, Government of Telangana.
