In Telangana, six cadres of various ranks of banned CPI (Maoist) surrendered before Bhadradri Kothagudem district police to lead a peaceful life with their family members.
District Superintendent of Police Rohith Raju said the Maoists got attracted to welfare measures being taken up for them by the State Government. He said they surrendered after knowing about the welfare measures being taken up for the surrendered Maoist and tribal people provided under Operation Cheyutha programme by the District Police. He added, this year so far, 300 Maoists surrendered before the district police.
