Telangana: Mancherial District Collector expresses gratitude to PM Modi for praising Mudigunta village in MKB

In a proud moment for Mancherial district, District Collector and Sarpanch Akula Ravi Kumar have expressed their immense gratification following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s praise for Mudigunta village in his 132nd ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address. The Prime Minister lauded the village in Jaipur mandal for achieving 100 per cent soak pit construction, highlighting it as a stellar example of the ‘Jal Sanchay Abhiyan’. Under the guidance of the District Collector and the local administration, the village of 1,581 residents across 10 wards successfully integrated water conservation into their daily lives.

Sarpanch Akula Ravi Kumar credited the success to a massive awareness campaign that motivated all 400 households to build soak pits, effectively preventing wastewater from flowing onto streets. This collective action has not only replenished groundwater levels and stabilised local borewells but has also significantly improved public health by eliminating mosquito breeding grounds.

The Additional District Collector Chandraiah joined the Sarpanch in thanking the villagers for their unwavering cooperation, noting that Mudigunta now stands as a national model for rural sanitation and sustainable water management.
