The New DGP of Telangana, CV Anand has warned of strenuous action against drug and narcotics trafficking, which are turning into organized crimes in the State.
Addressing a Press conference in Hyderabad after taking over the charge as New DGP today, he said that in order to resolve the growing traffic problem, AI technology and drones will be used, and a dedicated Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau will be set up at the state level to tackle the issues.
He said, Anti-Drug Committees will be set up in educational institutions to curb drugs and ragging. CV Anand promised to establish the police department as a brand that brings revolutionary changes in the state.
He clarified that there will be special surveillance on cybercrimes, food adulteration, and land grabbing and that criminal gangs will be reined in. As part of departmental reforms, he stated that efforts are underway to recruit around 5,000 new personnel to address the staff shortage. The DGP expressed confidence that Telangana Police will deliver the best performance by enhancing coordination among officers and in line with the government’s objectives.
