Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called upon cardiologists to join hands with the government to prevent heart diseases and reduce avoidable deaths. He laid emphasis on awareness, early intervention and community participation for addressing the issue. He said preventive medicine was often neglected, and educating citizens about healthy lifestyles and emergency response techniques can improve survival rates and overall public health. He also invited cardiologists to train school students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Addressing the Fellows India 2026 conference held in Hyderabad last evening, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for a united effort involving doctors, government and society to save more people, even as heart ailments continued to claim a large number of lives. Mr Reddy reiterated that healthcare remained a top priority for the state government and assured the medical fraternity that the administration was open to collaborate with doctors to frame better policies in the public interest. He invited cardiologists to share their suggestions and feedback to strengthen the healthcare system.

The Chief Minister said advancements in quantum computing and artificial intelligence were transforming medical science into a highly technology-driven field. Urging doctors to remain updated with the latest innovations, he reminded them not to lose the human touch, which he described as the foundation of compassionate healthcare. He appealed to the medical community to constantly work towards improving the quality of healthcare and aspire to make Telangana a global benchmark in medical excellence. More than 500 cardiologists from across the country and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries participated in the event.
