Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Promises Action on Kaleshwaram Project Irregularities

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that appropriate action will be taken against individuals held accountable for irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, after discussing it in the state Assembly.

The State Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister held in Hyderabad, reviewed the findings of the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission. The commission investigated irregularities in the planning, construction, and operation of the multi-crore project. The commission reportedly implicates former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and former Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao for lapses at various stages of the project.

State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing on the commission’s key findings during the Cabinet meeting. Speaking to the media later, Revanth Reddy said the Cabinet had formally approved the Ghosh Commission report and that it will soon be tabled in the Assembly for wider consultation. He asserted that the commission functioned independently and without political bias.
