Telangana CM puts officials on high alert amid heavy rains in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called on the district collectors and all department heads to remain on high alert to ensure public safety and uninterrupted services in view of heavy rains in some parts of the state. In a high-level review meeting through a video conference from Hyderabad last evening, he expressed concern that some parts of the state witnessed heavy rains during the past few days, necessitating immediate preparedness at all levels.

The Chief Minister directed senior police officials in all Commissionerates to remain on the ground to manage traffic and assist the public. Collectors have been instructed to maintain detailed records of damages caused by lightning and to take precautionary measures in ITDA regions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among tribal populations. The Chief Minister also emphasised that doctors must be available round-the-clock at PHCs and government hospitals. Mr Reddy addressed concerns about urea supply, assuring that sufficient stocks were available and any artificial shortage being created will be strictly dealt with. He also directed to setting up of a special complaints desk to deal with fertiliser-related grievances.
