The Budget Session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council gets underway today. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will address a joint sitting of both Houses in the morning, following which the session will be adjourned till tomorrow. On the 17th and 18th, debate on the Governor’s address will take place. The 19th will be a holiday on account of Ugadi. On the 20th, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will present the State Budget in the Assembly.
From the 23rd, discussions on departmental budgets will begin. Several important bills are expected to come up during the session, including amendments to the GHMC Act, a Gig Workers Welfare Bill, and a discussion on the Musi River rejuvenation project.
Meanwhile, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will also unveil the Telangana Talli statue at the Assembly premises earlier in the morning.
