In Telangana, 41 underground cadres, including 6 senior functionaries of the banned CPI (Maoist) organisation, have surrendered before the state police in the presence of Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy in Hyderabad. They also surrendered 24 firearms, including an INSAS LMG, 3 AK-47 rifles, and 5 SLR rifles. The surrendered cadres formally renounced violence and joined the mainstream of society. The DGP said the surrender represents a significant erosion of organisational strength, morale, and leadership credibility of the banned party.
