In Tamilnadu, with nominations to close down on Monday, leaders have started gearing up with their electioneering. Udhayanidhi Stalin, presently Deputy Chief Minister; Actor Vijay; and Soumya Anbumani, wife of Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, are among those who filed their nominations today. An actor-turned-politician is contesting two seats, one from Chennai and another from Trichy East. DMK Chief and Chief Minister MK. Stalin and former Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary E.Palanisamy are on a campaign trail to garner votes for their parties. In his campaign at Coimbatore, Stalin listed out the achievements made in the last five years and said that assurances will be implemented. Former Chief Minister E.Palanisami criticised the DMK Government for failing to ensure women’s and public safety and noted the increase in POCSO cases. He also highlighted the economic burden of the State.TVK Chief Vijay, after filing his nomination in Trichy, conducted a roadshow on a hot afternoon amidst a crowded gathering. After garlanding the MGR statue, he slammed the DMK Government as an evil force and accused the DMK of being fake about their promises.
