The Tamilnadu Government today convened an all-party consultative meeting to frame guidelines for conducting public meetings and political campaigns in the State. The meeting was led by three senior ministers and top officials, including Chief Secretary N.Muruganandam at the State Secretariat.
All parties having representation at the Parliament and State Assembly were invited to the meeting held in accordance with the directions of the Madras High Court, to prevent the recurrence of incidents like the stampede in Karur during a political meeting on September 27.
