US Senate Passes Bill to End Government Shutdown

The US Senate has passed legislation to reopen the government and end the longest-running government shutdown on record. Lawmakers passed the bill by a 60-40 vote. The bill is now headed to the House of Representatives, where a vote is expected to take place tomorrow.   The stopgap funding bill would allow the government to be funded until January 30.
