Sri Lankan Navy Arrests 35 Indian Fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Karaikal for Trespassing

Thirty-five fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Karaikal were arrested by the Navy of Sri Lanka today. They were caught for trespassing into international waters while fishing. They were taken to Kankesanthurai naval camp for interrogation, after which they were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries at Jaffna. Sri Lanka’s economy expands as Q2 GDP hits Rs. 2,883 billion

Sri Lanka’s economy expanded by 4.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, reflecting signs of sustained recovery from the country’s worst economic crisis in decades.
