Red Alert Issued in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry as Low Pressure Brings Heavy Rains

The Regional Meteorological Department has said that widespread rains are likely in Tamilnadu and Puducherry due to low pressures in the Bay of Bengal. According to Dr. B. Amudha, Addl Director General of the Met department, a well marked low pressure area is lying 400 kms away from Chennai in the Southwest Bay of Bengal.
