Calcutta HC disqualifies Mukul Roy Under Anti-Defection Law

The Calcutta High Court today disqualified senior political leader Mukul Roy from the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. While delivering the verdict, the division bench of Justice Debanshu Basak and Justice Md. Shabbar Rashidi said the finding returned by the speaker is perverse and cannot be sustained.     Mukul Roy was elected to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in the 2021 election.
