Sri Lankan Navy Arrests 35 Indian Fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Karaikal for Trespassing

Thirty-five fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Karaikal were arrested by the Navy of Sri Lanka today. They were caught for trespassing into international waters while fishing. They were taken to Kankesanthurai naval camp for interrogation, after which they were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries at Jaffna. The fishermen had travelled in three mechanised boats and one country boat, which were seized by the Sri Lankan authorities.
