The swearing-in ceremonies of the newly elected members of local self-government bodies were held across Kerala. The oldest member of each body was administered the oath first by the Returning Officer, after which the remaining members took their oath in front of the most senior member. In the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram,  where the NDA registered a historic victory, BJP members arrived for the ceremony as a walking procession from the Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple. The District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram, Anu Kumari, administered the oath to the oldest member, R. Cletus. Subsequently, the other members of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation took their oath in front of Mr. Cletus.
