In Telangana, the State Health department will be organising over 20,600 health camps for women across the state till the 2nd of next month under the Swasth Nari-Sashakt Parivar campaign. State Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha announced this at the inauguration event of a Community Health Centre in Hyderabad yesterday.
During the 16-day campaign of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, health check-ups and screening camps for non-communicable diseases, cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis and sickle cell disease will be held. He said it will also provide maternal and child healthcare services, promote awareness on nutrition and hygiene, and encourage voluntary blood donation to strengthen public health.
The Minister said specialist consultations will be available at Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad hospitals and teaching hospitals, while mega health camps with super-specialist doctors will be conducted in each district.
