Prime Minister Narendra Modi today recalled the valour of all those who were a part of the Assam Movement on the occasion of Swahid Diwas.

In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that the movement will always have a prime place in the nation’s history.

Mr Modi also reiterated India’s commitment to fulfilling the dreams of those who participated in the Assam Movement, notably the strengthening of Assam’s culture and the all-around progress of the state.

On the occasion of Swahid Diwas, Home Minister Amit Shah has recalled the sacrifices made by the people of Assam during the Assam Movement.

In a social media post, the Home Minister said that the people faced odds and shaped the history of Assam, creating a peerless example of patriotism.

Mr Shah added that the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Modi is ensuring that their aspirations are fulfilled and is leading the State on the path of peace, progress, and growth.
