The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, today said that Narco-terrorism is no longer a distant threat but sits at the core of security, economic and governance challenges. Addressing the International Conference on Countering Narco-Terrorism in New Delhi, Mr Sandhu emphasised the need for stronger coordination, smarter use of technology and a balanced approach that focuses on prevention as much as enforcement. He noted that the global narcotics trade fuels organized crime, money laundering and terror financing.
The Conference was attended by experts from strategic, law enforcement, diplomatic and academic communities. Mr Sandhu said that conferences like these serve as platforms in turning dialogue into action and driving a more coordinated global response.
