State-level 100-day TB campaign officially launched in Agartala on World Tuberculosis Day 

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, a State-level 100-day tuberculosis (TB) campaign was officially launched in Agartala at the Kathiyababa Ashram, Nagichherra. The initiative was organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with the National Health Mission.
 
The campaign was inaugurated by Health Secretary of the state, Kiran Gitte, who emphasized in his address that tuberculosis is a curable disease if detected early and treated properly. He highlighted the importance of awareness and timely screening, stating that the government is placing maximum emphasis on screening tests to achieve a TB-free State and Country. Describing TB as a “silent killer”, he warned that the disease can spread both within households and in the community. He also noted that India currently has around 2.6 million TB patients.
