Sports competitions held at 250 locations across India under ASMITA project on Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, sports competitions were organised simultaneously at 250 locations across the country under the ASMITA project of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
 
The programme was jointly organised by the Sports Authority of India and MY Bharat with the aim of encouraging girls from villages and small towns to take up sports as a career. Along with the rest of the country, competitions were also held at Kamalpur in Dhalai district of Tripura.
 
District Youth Officer Ajit Kumar informed that the state-level sports competitions were organised at the ground of PM Shri Krishnachandra Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Kamalpur. However, most of the participants in the event were from Dhalai district.
