Special prayers are being held across Sri Lanka to mark the 75th birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting goodwill across faiths and communities. The Bohra community in Colombo organised a prayer at the Bohra mosque in Colombo, offering blessings for PM Modi’s health and continued leadership. Similarly, Prayers were also held at the Mahabodhi Society in Colombo, where monks invoked blessings from the Dhamma for India and the Prime Minister. Prayers were also held at Ruhunu Katharagama Maha Devalaya, in southern Sri Lanka, as well as Thiruketeeswaram temple at Mannar.
In the Eastern Province, special prayers are also planned at the historic Thirukoneswaram Temple in Trincomalee for the Indian Prime Minister. Similarly, at the multi-religious sacred site of Kataragama, prayers will be held later today. Apart from this, prayers are also being held at various places across the island. The observances highlight not only respect for the Indian leader but also the enduring bonds between the peoples of India and Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi has played a central role in deepening regional connectivity and cultural exchanges, and was honoured Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushana earlier this year.
