Special prayers are being held across Sri Lanka to mark the 75th birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting goodwill across faiths and communities. The Bohra community in Colombo is organising a prayer at their Hussaini mosque in Colombo, offering blessings for Modi’s health and continued leadership. Prayers are also scheduled at the Mahabodhi Society in Colombo, where monks will invoke blessings from the Dhamma.
In the Eastern Province, special prayers are also planned at the historic Thirukoneswaram Temple in Trincomalee for the Indian Prime Minister. Similarly, at the multi-religious sacred site of Kataragama, prayers will be held later today. Apart from this, prayers are also being held at various places across the island. The observances highlight not only respect for the Indian leader but also the enduring bonds between the peoples of India and Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi has played a central role in deepening regional connectivity and cultural exchanges, and was honoured Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhishana earlier this year.
