The India Meteorological Department today said that the southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from the remaining parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, and some more parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan today. Southwest monsoon has also withdrawn from some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The Met department said that conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the remaining parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two to three days. The weatherman has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at many places, with isolated heavy rainfall likely over Chhattisgarh during the next seven days.
