South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will pay a state visit to India today. He will be accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials, and business leaders. This will be President Lee’s first visit to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that during the visit, President Lee will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas, including shipbuilding, trade, investment, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, critical and emerging technologies, people-to-people ties, and cultural exchanges. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister will host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary. President Lee will also meet President Droupadi Murmu. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on the visiting dignitary. India and South Korea share a multifaceted partnership rooted in ancient civilisational ties and shared values of democracy and the rule of law. The visit underscores the commitment of both countries to further strengthen existing cooperation and expand collaboration in new and emerging areas.
