South Korea, the United States and Japan will hold trilateral talks among their top diplomats during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation gathering this week. The meeting will take place in a closed-door format tomorrow afternoon. It follows the summit talks between Korean President Lee Jae Myung and US President Donald Trump.

It will mark the first three-way talks between South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, since the launch of the new Japanese cabinet led by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

The meeting is expected to offer an opportunity for the three countries to reaffirm their commitment to continuing efforts to enhance their trilateral partnership.
