In South Africa, 12 children died after a truck collided with a school minibus in Gauteng province today. The Traffic Police spokesperson said that 11 school children died at the spot, and one child succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The preliminary investigations have indicated that the minibus driver attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of him and did not notice an oncoming truck, resulting in a head-on collision. According to the officials, the incident occurred around 7 AM, when a private vehicle was transporting primary and high school students.
