The holy town of Somnath has been transformed into a divine landscape as the four-day Somnath Swabhiman Parv continues at the first Jyotirlinga. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to join the celebrations tomorrow, the entire region is resonating with spiritual fervour and a deep sense of national identity.

The streets of Somnath have become a vibrant tapestry of light and devotion for the ongoing ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv.’ Major intersections and four-way circles across the city are draped in colourful illuminations, welcoming thousands of devotees from across the globe. Since early morning, high-quality sound systems installed at public squares have been filling the air with Vedic chants, Shiv Dhun, and soul-stirring bhajans.

 

The atmosphere is further heightened by the 72-hour continuous ‘Akhand Omkar Jap,’ turning the entire town into a sanctuary of ‘Shiv-may’ energy. This festival is not just a religious gathering but a grand celebration of India’s cultural resilience and self-respect. Special decorations and public lighting projects have been executed along the main roads leading to the temple to mark this historic occasion.
