The Somnath Temple, located at Prabhas Patan in Gujarat and widely revered as the foremost of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is marking 75 years since its reconstruction. To commemorate the occasion, the “Somnath Amrit Parv” is being celebrated. The Somnath Temple has also come to symbolise enduring pride and cultural identity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the celebrations tomorrow at Prabhas Patan and will also address a public gathering on the occasion.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Somnath Amrut Parv 2026 celebrations tomorrow on the occasion of 75 years of the reconstruction of the first Jyotirlinga, Somnath Mahadev Temple. In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, tight police security arrangements have been made in Prabhas Patan.
Meanwhile, today Prabhas Patan witnessed a unique confluence of spirituality, patriotism, and military strength. The Indian Air Force conducted an air show rehearsal in which pilots won the hearts of the people with their daring aerial performances. Rehearsals for cultural programs also showcased a special Bengali presentation along with glimpses of Gujarat’s folk culture.
On the occasion of the Amrit Parv, the temple premises have been specially decorated with flowers. In addition, the statue of Hamirji Gohil on the main road has also been adorned with floral decorations. At the same time, an atmosphere of enthusiasm is being seen among devotees and tourists as well.
