The Election Commission of India has announced to conduct a special intensive revision (SIR) in Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. In Punjab, 24 thousand 453 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will go house to house to collect data from 2 crore 14 lakh 56 thousand 297 electors from June 25th to July 24th. Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Anindita Mitra while briefing media in Chandigarh today said that the final electoral rolls will be published on October 1.
In Haryana and Chandigarh, the BLOs will visit houses from June 15 to July 14 and final electoral rolls will be published on September 22.
