Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said that Sir Deenbandhu Chhoturam dedicated his life to the upliftment of farmers and marginalized sections of society, playing a pivotal role in their socio-economic development.
The Vice President was addressing the 8th Convocation Ceremony of the Deenbandhu Chhoturam University of Science and Technology, located in Sonipat, Haryana. He remarked that Deenbandhu Chhoturam’s efforts regarding cooperative institutions and an equitable land system laid the foundation for a robust agricultural framework, enabling Haryana to emerge as a prosperous agrarian state and contribute significantly to the nation’s food security.
While congratulating the graduating students at the convocation ceremony, the Vice President highlighted that approximately 64% of the gold medalists were women, and women constituted nearly 50% of the total graduating batch. He attributed this outcome to women’s empowerment and the positive impact of initiatives such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. Referring to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Vice President described it as a significant stride towards innovation, self-confidence, and indigenous solutions. Discussing emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Quantum Computing, and Green Technology, he urged the students to embrace these domains responsibly and contribute to nation-building.
Expressing concern over the growing menace of drug abuse, the Vice President appealed to the youth to completely shun such habits and to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle.
