Silver Jubilee of Chhattisgarh: VP Highlights Development, Naxalism-Free Progress, and Women’s Power

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan today attended the valedictory function of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee celebrations in Raipur. 

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Radhakrishanan said, the decisive progress made in completely eliminating the problem of Naxalism is one of the most significant achievements of Chhattisgarh in recent years. He said that menace of Naxalism had hindered the development of the state. He emphasized that development is not possible without peace.

 

The Vice President said that peace has now been restored in areas once affected by extremism with the strong resolve of the Central and State Governments and cooperation of local communities. He appealed to Maoists to shun violence, surrender and join the mainstream of society.

 

The Vice President remarked that in the twenty-five years since its formation, Chhattisgarh has undertaken an extraordinary journey-from being one of the youngest states of India to emerging as one of the most progressive states. He said this journey has been remarkable on social, economic, cultural and administrative fronts.

 

On this occasion, the Vice President conferred State Awards on distinguished personalities for their exemplary contribution in various fields. The event marked the completion of twenty-five years since the formation of Chhattisgarh.

 

Earlier in the day, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan attended the Lakhpati Didi conference held in Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. Addressing the gathering, the Vice President said, this conference of Lakhpati Didis stands as a testimony to women’s self-reliance, empowerment and excellence. He added that the Lakhpati Didi initiative is a symbol of strength and determination of women in the country, who are transforming challenges into opportunities. Mr. Radhakrishnan said that the term Lakhpati Didi not only reflects income levels but also represents women’s freedom, dignity and self-confidence.

 

Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh were present on the occasion. During his visit to Rajnandgaon, the Vice President also inaugurated the Udayachal Multispeciality Eye-Care Institute, constructed at a cost of five crore rupees. 

 

Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan witnessed the spectacular air show by the Indian Air Force’s famed Suryakiran Aerobatic Team in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, today. The breathtaking display of skill and precision fostered a patriotic atmosphere and marked the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation as part of the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav celebrations. 

 

Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion. Showcasing exceptional skill and technical prowess, the Suryakiran Aerobatic team performed several stunning aerial formations. Thousands of people gathered near Sendh Lake in Nava Raipur to witness and enjoy the air show.
